World Around Us “Making Solar Ovens”
As part of our topic for this term we have been learning about the different types of energy use, both renewable and non-renewable. The pupils carried out an investigation to see if they could use a renewable source of energy to cook with.
The children designed their very own solar ovens and experimented with different materials to see which would reflect ot trap the heat of the sun. Once they had made their oven they filled them with smores and left them on the windowsill to cook. Thankfully it was a lovely sunny day so the chocolate and marshmallow were melted by the solar energy. Of course the best part was getting to eat the smores after a morning of hard work!!! Well done everyone!
