Tri?County Football Tournament
17th Apr 2026
It was an extremely busy and exciting morning at Coagh United Youth / Coagh United FC today as 21 primary school teams took part in the Tri?County Football Tournament which was organised by Coagh Primary School. Teams competed across three sections:
Smaller Schools Tournament
Larger Schools Tournament
Development Tournament for ‘B’ teams
In total, approximately 200 primary school pupils were involved – a fantastic showcase of skill, teamwork and sportsmanship.
Coagh Primary School competed in the Smaller Schools Tournament, recording 3 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses. It was certainly a variety of performances, with the standout result being a superb win against the overall winners, Ballytrea. With only two P7 pupils in the team this year, we look forward to seeing continued development from this group.
Coagh also entered both a ‘B’ Team and a ‘C’ Team in the Development Tournament. This was a brilliant experience for all involved, and for many pupils it was their first time representing the school. The 'B' Team played six matches with only one defeat, 3 draws and 2 wins- a brilliant effort from a team consisting of mainly P4 and P5 pupils. The 'C' Team worked hard throughout the tournament and it was a great learning experience for them all.
A fantastic morning of football all round – there will definitely be some tired legs tonight!
A special mention must go to the P7 pupils who completed a variety of 'jobs' throughout the tournament to ensure everything ran so smoothly.
Congratulations to the overall winners-
Development Tournament- Shared between Bush Primary School and Woods Primary School
