Tri County Netball Tournament
Our girls’ netball team travelled to Magherafelt High School today to take part in the Tri County Netball Tournament, and what a fantastic day of netball it was!
For many of our players, this was their first ever tournament, and it was wonderful to see them stepping up to the challenge with determination, teamwork and great sportsmanship.
Group Stages
During the group stages, the girls played four matches against:
- Castledawson PS
- Newmills PS
- Donaghey PS
- Stewartstown PS
They secured two wins, one draw, and one loss, earning themselves a well-deserved semi-final place.
Semi Final
The girls faced Woods Primary School, last year’s winners. Despite playing extremely well and showing great resilience, the team missed out on a place in the final.
3rd/4th Place Playoff
Next up was a playoff against Holy Family, Magherafelt.
The first match ended in a draw, leading to a replay to determine the final placings. Although Coagh PS went 1–0 ahead, the game finished 2–1 to Holy Family.
Final Outcome
Out of 12 teams, our girls finished 4th overall — an exceptional achievement for such a young and developing squad. We are incredibly proud of their effort, teamwork and positivity throughout the tournament.

A huge thank you to Lisa Bowman, who coaches our after-school netball club. It is fantastic to see the girls’ skills developing so well, and we are excited to see some of our younger pupils stepping into team either later this year or next.
