Tri-County Football Success
Today marked the first football tournament of the school year for the Coagh Primary School teams — and what a brilliant start it was!
In a complete change of team from last year, it was fantastic to see every player step up and perform so well throughout the morning. Coagh Primary School entered two teams in the competition — Coagh and Coagh ‘Colts’ — and both sides represented the school superbly.
Other schools taking part included Donaghey, Newmills, Donaghmore, Queen Elizabeth II (Pomeroy) and Ballytrea.
Coagh ‘Colts’
For many of the Coagh ‘Colts’, this was their very first tournament, and they impressed everyone with their enthusiasm, teamwork, and determination. They were competitive in every game and produced some excellent football.
Goal scorers for the Colts were:
Cole (2), Joey (1), Kai (2), Isaac (1) and Joel (1).
Many of these players were from P4 and P5, making it a fantastic development experience for them and an encouraging sign for the future!
Coagh Primary School Team
The Coagh team played brilliantly throughout, showing great skill and teamwork. They played five matches, winning four and drawing one — finishing the tournament undefeated and proudly lifting the Tri-County Football Trophy for the second year in a row!
Goal scorers were:
Eden (3), Jackson (4) and Henry (1).
What an incredible achievement — congratulations to everyone involved!
Coagh Team: Rhys, Henry, Matthew B, Jackson, Eden, Bobby, Thomas B and Toby.
