Teddy Bears’ Picnic in P1
Today our Primary 1 pupils arrived with great excitement — each bringing along their favourite teddy bear to enjoy a Teddy Bears’ Picnic as part of their current topic.
Although the weather didn’t allow us to hold the picnic outdoors, the pupils had a wonderful time celebrating together in the assembly hall. Their teddies joined in for stories, songs and plenty of imaginative fun!
Did You Know?
The famous song “The Teddy Bears’ Picnic” has a special local connection.
The lyrics were written in 1932 by Jimmy Kennedy, an internationally successful songwriter who grew up in Coagh.
The children enjoyed discovering that a well known song was written by someone with links to our own village!
