Shared Education Day 5

5th Feb 2026

Shared Education Day 5 – World Wetlands Day 2026

On Tuesday, our P6 and P7 pupils travelled to The Battery Harbour to take part in a series of activities organised by Mid Ulster Council in celebration of World Wetlands Day 2026. They were joined by their friends from Ballylifford Primary School and Derrychrin Primary School as part of our ongoing Shared Education partnership.

Throughout the morning, pupils rotated around a range of engaging and educational activities. These included fishing, bird watching, and tree measuring, as well as team building sessions delivered by Forest Schools NI. A particular highlight was meeting members of Lough Neagh Rescue, who taught the pupils important life?saving skills and provided the opportunity to see the lifeboat up close.

This was a wonderful experience for all involved, offering hands?on learning and the chance to deepen friendships across our partner schools.

We extend our sincere thanks to the staff at Mid Ulster Council for organising such a valuable and enjoyable morning for our pupils.
