Over the past few weeks, it has been fantastic to see the enthusiasm and effort shown by our pupils from P3–P7 as they created their School Council manifestos and presented them confidently to their class before voting took place.
The voting in all classes was extremely close, and in some year groups, there were 'ties', resulting in additional representatives being elected.
Last week, Mrs Courtney held the first meeting with the newly elected School Council. During this meeting, pupils voted for their Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson, and also made their first big decision — the Accelerated Reading reward for Term 1A will be 'Pizza and Party Clothes' (More details to follow).
The School Council will meet each month with Mrs Courtney to discuss school matters and share ideas on how to continue making Coagh Primary School a great place to learn.
