Rainey Hockey Tournament – A Fantastic Day for Coagh Primary
Today, our Girls’ Hockey Team travelled to Rainey Endowed to take part in their annual hockey tournament. This was the team’s first outing of the school year, and they performed brilliantly throughout the day!
Matches Played: 5
Results: Won 3, Drew 2
Goals Scored: 5 (Ella x2, Alana x2, Emily W x1)
Goals Conceded: 1
These fantastic results meant the team progressed to the final against Magherafelt Primary School. The final was a tight match ending 0-0, which led to ‘run-ins’ (the hockey equivalent of a penalty shootout).
Huge credit to Ella, Emily W, and Alana, who volunteered to take the run-ins and scored all three!
Special mention to Olivia, who made a brilliant save to secure the win for Coagh!
Final Result: Coagh Primary – Tournament Winners!
Team: Olivia (GK), Elsie, Grace M, Alana, Emily W, Poppy, Grace W, Everly, Ella, Emily P.
A massive thank you to Rainey Endowed for hosting today's tournament and to the A Level students who organised and ran the tournament. The atmosphere was fantastic, with Christmas music, fun games during breaks, and great engagement with all the teams.
Well done, girls – what an amazing achievement!
