Learning to Write Instructions
Primary 4 and Primary 5 have been learning all about instruction writing as part of their literacy work. They have been exploring how to give clear, step?by?step directions and why it is important to write instructions that are easy to follow.
To make their learning extra fun (and tasty!), the children put their skills into action by making jam sandwiches. They carefully thought about the equipment they needed, the order of each step and the importance of clear language.
Afterwards, the pupils wrote their own sets of instructions explaining how to make a jam sandwich, using time words, numbered steps and instructional language. Everyone did a fantastic job showing their understanding of how instructions work.
