House Point Reward
House Point Reward
At Coagh Primary School, every pupil belongs to one of our four Houses — Hanover, Urbal, Ballinderry, and Tamlaght. These names all hold special significance to the village of Coagh and are proudly represented in our school crest. Throughout each term, pupils work hard to earn House Points through positive behaviour, effort, and achievement.
For Term 2, the School Council decided that the House Reward would be a special visit to SPAR Coagh. Once the points were totalled, each House received a specific amount of money for their members to spend:
- Ballinderry – £1.25
- Tamlaght – £1.00
- Urbal – 70p
- Hanover – 70p
Each class walked to SPAR, where pupils had the opportunity to use 'real' money to make decisions about what they could buy. They also had the chance to use the tills and payment machines — a fantastic way to put their numeracy and money-handling skills into a meaningful, real-life context.
A huge thank you to SPAR Coagh for facilitating this valuable learning experience, and to all the staff who supported the visit. We are also grateful to the Parents’ Association, who kindly donated the money that made this reward possible.
A brilliant experience for everyone involved — well done to all our House teams for their hard work this term!
