'Hatchery in the Classroom'

12th Mar 2019

The P5 pupils along with their friends from Ballylifford Primary School have been monitoring the progress of the fish eggs which changed into 'fry' over the last two months. On Monday they welcomed Frank and David from 'The Ballinderry Rivers Trust' who helped them to release the 'fry' into the Ballinderry River. Thankfully the weather was kind! The pupils also had the opportunity to look at various insects and creatures that live in the Ballinderry River.

Maybe in a few years some of the pupils might catch a few of them when out fishing!!

It is great to have such a wonderful environment within easy access of the school.
