Gortatole Residential – Day
After a long drive from Coagh to Gortatole this morning, the pupils wasted no time getting involved in the first of many exciting activities!
The children were divided into three groups and will remain in these groups throughout the residential as they take part in the wide range of activities on offer over the next few days.
During the afternoon session, Groups 1 and 2 headed for the water where they enjoyed kayaking on the lake and even had the opportunity to jump into the water! Meanwhile, Group 3 took to the hills and were rewarded with breathtaking views across Fermanagh and beyond. Along the walk, pupils also had the chance to sample some local vegetation — something they surprisingly enjoyed!
In the evening, all pupils took part in an orienteering activity, exploring the wonderful grounds at Gortatole while working together to complete challenges. The day finished with some well-earned marshmallow toasting, providing the perfect end to a fantastic first day.
Everyone has settled in well and is looking forward to another action-packed day tomorrow!
