Goldilocks and the Three Bears
P1 have been busy exploring the story ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’ during literacy, and what a wonderful time we’ve had bringing the tale to life in our classroom.
After reading the story together, each pupil created their very own version of the Goldilocks book. The children carefully ordered pictures to retell the story and then designed their own front covers — each one unique and full of colour.
Our learning didn’t stop there. The pupils then became detectives, making ‘wanted’ posters to help find Goldilocks after she committed various “crimes” at the Bears’ house. There was lots of discussion about how we could describe her to help others spot her.
To finish our Goldilocks topic, we decided to make some porridge — just like in the story. We talked about the recipe, the ingredients and the instructions that tell us what to do. Working together, we made some porridge, and soon phrases like “the porridge is just right” could be heard all around the room.
A great, tasty way to end our Goldilocks adventure — full of storytelling, creativity and happy faces.
