P4/5 had brilliant fun today preparing their very own Egypt mummies for burial! Don’t worry, they weren’t real mummies! The children used a tomato to represent the body and then scooped out the contents with a spoon. They then filled the inside with salt and baking powder to help dry out the flesh. This experiment was to help the children understand the mummification process. In a few weeks time we will examine the bodies to see what has changed. We will keep you posted!
